What made this season exciting for me at first was Thia Megia, the Fil-Am idol finalist. It's pretty self-explanatory why. I kind of liked Naima Adedapo too, she's unique, but just like Thia they didn't really stay in the competition that long. They were even eliminated at the same time.
So who's left with my favorites that I still kept on watching AI? Scotty. Scotty, Scotty, Scotty. The comment I always give him is about his very, very deep voice, which was also the reason why he really got my attention. He's only 17 and he's got a voice like that. Who wouldn't be surprised?! He was one of my favorites even during auditions with his 'Baby Lock Them Doors' version, and I was really excited when he made the Top 13. Aside from him I also liked Casey, Lauren, even Stefano, and James until my eardrums became bored with all the screaming in every James Durbin song. I was surprised that he got eliminated in the Top 4 but not that disappointed.
And then it was down to two. I haven't watched the whole top 2 perfomance night and final eliminations night shows, but by the time I post this, the final performance and results shows would all be over, and we all know who won...Scotty McCreery!!!
Now it's time for our newest American Idol, Scotty McCreery. For every Scotty McCreery performance, I always sigh at the end, I don't know if it's the voice, or his performance, or his charm, but I just adore him. At first I thought that his voice or the song choices was going to be a problem for him since he's so country, and that he might not last that long or make it to the top 2. Well, Scotty proved America, and everyone that even if his voice was totally so country, he could still do a lot of things. His 'Gone' performance was just amazing, and I also loved his version of Kenny Rogers's 'She Believes In Me'. He had a lot of country songs, but he also had his share of bringing his own style to non-country songs, and he did really well with them. Lauren may have totally taken the final 2 performance night, but in the end, it was still Scotty's moment. He may not have always given a very powerful perfomance like Haley's, or James's, or Casey's, or Lauren's, but I believe he's a total performer, and I agree with Randy Jackson whenever he says that it was like he was watching a Scotty McCreery concert. Because it totally felt like it. It need not be powerful; Scotty did it with his charm, his charisma, and his unmistakable voice. Among all the other contestants, I think Scotty had the most improvement ever since this season began. He has grown so much as a singer, an artist, and as a total performer. He's only 17. He's got a lot ahead of him. Surely, if everything goes well for him, this guy will totally go far. And I believe he deserves to be Season 10's American Idol.
'Til next season, America! =))
P.S.
So, Lauren and Scotty are not really an item, but I think they would look cute together. Just saying! =))
P.P.S.
And let me just say that Lauren has totally transformed. Check out some of her audition pics, and compare them to how she looks like now. She looks way better.
