  1. Food and Family

    Sunday, February 19, 2012

    *another late post*

    February 11

Whenever there's a special occasion or a celebration with the whole family, great food will never be out of the picture. I'm lucky to be part of a family which such great cooks! (I'm not sure if I will ever be able to do what they do.=P)

This time, one of my mom's uncles (which makes him my Lolo) came here for a visit from the States since he had a class reunion to attend. This means...family reunion...and food!!
    my niece's work of art
Food courtesy of my Tita, and my Mom of course. =D
Shrimp, Pansit Malabon, Fried Chicken, Bopis, Lumpia (Vegetables), Salmon(Sinigang?), Lechon, and fruits and kakanin for dessert. =D

Since it was also almost the birthday of one of my second cousins, we surprised him with a small impromptu cake and ice cream birthday party. More food!

Awesome day spent with the family, and food! =D

Next food feast: February 25, Ate Libay's birthday =D

  2. *another late post*

Well, what do you know, New Year is ushered in, Chinese New Year passes by, and then it's Valentine's Day. Honestly, every year, I always think if I'd be spending Valentine's Day differently than the last. So far, it has always just been the same, just another ordinary day. (Except for the surroundings probably.)

This day still had a different atmosphere to it even though technically it's still an ordinary day. Early morning I keep on seeing people carrying bouquets of beautiful flowers, which made me realize when will I receive another beautiful bouquet.

At the office, some of my officemates gave chocolates to everyone in celebration of Valentine's Day. The Ferrero and the M&M's are still in our refrigerator. Thanks Alvin and Kevin!

On my way home it was the same, people with different Valentine's day gifts were all around. I decided to stay away from the mall, which was a good idea I think. We had a some sort of a special dinner at home. Mom cooked pasta and bought a cake, and I bought some roasted chicken. Perfect way to end a day dedicated to love, to be with the ones you love, and those who love you.

Mom and I also had a pre-Valentine date the Sunday before Valentine's Day. Since we were fans of the Star Wars series, we decided to watch Star Wars Episode 1 3D at the cinemas then had dinner at Joey Pepperoni, her treat this time. Thanks Ma! =D

As what they always say, Valentine's Day is not just a day for couples and the like. As long as you have the people you love around you, friends, family, partners, you can always celebrate Valentine's Day in any way. Feel the love! =D <3

  3. Family Sun-date

    Wednesday, February 15, 2012

    *late post*

Sundays are usually rest days for us at home. But this time, we decided to go out and pig out. =D

February 5, 2012, Kuya was craving for some Papa John's pizza, so after we heard mass at Malate Church, we decided to have an early dinner at Papa John's Greenbelt branch.

Would you trade your car to start your own pizza business?

  4. Yummy Food Discoveries

    Monday, August 29, 2011

I'm going to take a little break from basketball, and blog about some of the yummy food I have discovered over the past few days. There's food for main course, for afternoon break, and of course there's dessert.

    Frostings Cupcakes (http://www.frostingscupcakes.com.ph/)

I have been craving for cupcakes last week, and luckily I found this little stall in MOA. It's called Frostings Cupcakes and they've got a number of cupcake flavors. There's Regular cupcakes, Premium cupcakes, Fruit cupcakes which features different fruits such as banana, mango, peaches, etc., and Extra Premium cupcakes.

    Regular Cupcakes

There wasn't much left of the cupcake flavors for that day when I arrived since that was already a bit late. Luckily the regular cupcake flavors were just enough for six cupcakes, so I ordered one of each. The regular cupcakes are the cheapest at 45 pesos a piece. The others (premium, fruit, extra premium) range from 65-75 pesos or even higher. There were seven flavors to choose from actually, but I didn't order the Choco Strawberry cupcake since I wasn't really a fan of choco strawberry combinations.

(clockwise from top right) I didn't get the flavor of the first one and it's not in their website as well, but the others are Lava cupcake, Smores Choco Caramel, Braso de Mercedes, Double Dutch, and Lemon Meringue. My favorite is the Braso de Mercedes cupcake, but all the others taste good as well. The first one kind of had an orange flavor to it, so probably that's the least one that I liked. The cupcakes itself weren't that sweet so it goes well with the right amount of sweetness in their frostings. Craving satisfied! :) (They also have other pastries such as brownies, pies, and bars.)

  5. Mercato & UAAP All in One Day

    Friday, August 5, 2011

First week of August has flown by really fast! Don't you think? And I know it's about time I update my blog!

Though this is a bit late, it's worthy of a blog post, really. This doesn't happen very often and I'm very happy that it did!

Last July 30, I had a long date with Mom. Actually this has been going on for a while now, spontaneous mall visits, movies, and food trips of course. Wala, nahihilig lang gumala. It won't be complete without the food trip. =))

Our agenda for July 30 was go to Mercato to support Joyce, my college friend who is currently studying at CCA (Center for Culinary Arts), and to watch the UST-FEU game. Yes, I got my Mom, finally, to watch a UAAP game with me. =)) Our next project is the Shakey's V-League.

  6. Happy Valentine's Day!

    Tuesday, February 15, 2011

    Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I know a lot of people consider Valentine's Day to be a day for couples, or those who have their significant others. I used to think about it that way too, but time changes everything. So now, even if I don't have my special someone, I've felt Valentine's Day in a way and celebrated it too as well.

Here was how I "celebrated" my February 14, 2011.

I was all dressed up. Haha! It looked like I will be having a date at the end of the day (an officemate actually asked me if I had one because I was wearing a dress), but honestly, I just felt like being all girly. Besides, I had my foot spa, mani-pedi, and a haircut the previous day. Yes, I'm all set and prepared for V-Day, even without a date.

  7. Forgive Me

    Thursday, December 2, 2010

I gave into temptation. My Indulgence.

Oh, and have I mentioned that I got this for free? Yep, free Haagen-Dazs!! :D
Read more to find out how. :P

  8. The Long Weekend

    Sunday, November 7, 2010

Finally, after a week, here it is! This was how I spent the previous long weekend. :)

October 30: First up was a movie date with my bets Tin. Watched The Social Network at Greenbelt after pigging out with nachos, fries, smoothies, from Fuzion. Mark Zuckerberg is one hell of a weirdly genius billionaire.

  9. *About the Title: I actually can't think of a decent title. Haha.*

    "I just can't stop loving you...I just can't stop loving you...I just can't stop..."
Oh wait, but I can, can't I? It's just a matter of choice. Yes, I can, and I shall. I was able to do it with the others anyway.

I've thought of this song while I was having random thoughts the other day. If I was to be asked for a theme song that I would give him, this is the song that I would choose. I've been thinking too much about him lately, no not the ex, but someone else in the past. It's sort of wrong because he's happy right now with someone else and here I am still hoping that someday he would be free again. That is so not right.

I shouldn't be thinking this way, but the mere fact that I found out that it was possible, and then at the last minute it was all too late, that's what's been bothering me. And I haven't totally moved on from that. Especially since he hasn't really changed the way he's been treating me. I like it that way though, I just have to look at it in a different way I guess.

So here I am singing a different tune. "It must have been love, but it's over now. It must have been good, but I've lost it somehow." And it's not just for him this time. I will try and find a way to detach myself from the things that have been bothering me which really shouldn't. So I just have to look at things in a different way. Get it?

One more thing. I saw this bottle of C2 at the supermarket yesterday, and look at how small it is!

I just found it amusing so I had to buy it. It's probably 2/3 of a small Fit 'n Right bottle. Perfect for light drinkers who can't finish even the smallest regular C2 bottle.

  10. Satur-date

    Tuesday, October 26, 2010

It has been a while since me, my mom and my kuya ate out for lunch or dinner. So Friday night when I went home, I decided to invite them to a Saturday lunch out. Unfortunately, my mom didn't want the parlor to be unattended, so we decided to leave kuya behind. (We'll go Army Navy next time kuya. =P)

Thinking that there was an Army Navy branch in MOA, I told my mom that we'll just go there. Turned out there was no Army Navy there, so I dropped the burger as one of our choices. My mom didn't want to go to Glorietta too so we just stuck with MOA and I just made some research on where is the best place to eat. Something different this time, something we haven't eaten at for a long time, if not the first time. And the top pick was...

  11. One Down!

    Sunday, October 17, 2010

    Tutti Frutti G4
Finally got to taste the yummy-ness of Tutti Frutti! We went to the Glorietta 4 branch of Tutti Frutti last Friday before heading to the movies in Greenbelt. Luckily they had a G4 branch! I was really excited to try it, and it did not disappoint me at all. I got the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavored yogurt because that was what they said was good.  I think Megamall has a bigger branch, and probably more flavors? And boy, it doesn't taste anything like yogurt! As if it's just simple ice cream!

  12. Food Trip

    Wednesday, October 13, 2010

WARNING: This post could give you hunger and/or cravings.

What I like about eating out is the feeling you get when you’re actually at the restaurant than when you just have the food delivered at your doorstep. Especially if it’s your first time there; you get the whole feel of it, the whole experience. Unfortunately my mom doesn’t share the same views as I have, so we don’t really get to eat out a lot.

Ironically though, I’ve slowly been becoming fond of eating out and trying new restaurants that according to my friends are okay, especially now that I can afford those scrumptious meals with my own money. I haven’t gone far out though yet; I haven’t treated myself to a Friday’s meal (with my own money), or to Fish & Co., Racks, Don Henrico’s, Italianni’s, and the like. (You know what I mean.) I’m starting with the more affordable ones first; Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy, Icebergs desserts, The Old Spaghetti House, Carlo’s Pizza, etc., which before I’ve only wished for of eating at during special occasions.

Above all these, there are those restaurants though that I’ve always wanted to try. Either I’ve always seen them, they look interesting, the food really looks yummy, or reviews from other people are really good. Let me enumerate (in no particular order) some of the places that I have been wanting to visit for some time now.
