1. Bohol (Day 2 - Countryside Tour)

    Thursday, December 1, 2011

Day 2 was reserved for our Countryside tour. One of our officemates, who was also there during the same weekend, gave us someone whom we could contact for the tour. We heard their tour was good, and for a very affordable price (we paid 2,000, not including the entrance fees, lunch at the river), so we made our reservation.

We were picked up at the hotel at 8am. The one taking us to the tour was very prompt! He was already there while Casey and I were still eating our breakfast. We hired a car, but the guide/driver said that all the cars were already out, so they let us use an Innova instead. Good thing there was no additional fee. =D

    Read on! :)

Our first stop, Tarsier Conservatory. Since it could get muddy at the place where the Tarsiers are once it starts to rain, our guide suggested that we go there first, since it was on the way anyway. Ang konti na lang ng tarsier dito! It was nice seeing a tarsier up close. =))

Next stop, Butterfly Center. People here in Bohol were very accommodating, and our tour guide here at the butterfly center was really funny.

Chocolate Hills. I've always remembered the times where I would only see the Chocolate Hills in our books or in postcards. But this time, I get to see them in person. Awesome.

You just have to go through a tiring way up the viewing deck. Halfway through the stairway, Casey and I were both gasping, haha. We took our time on our way down, so as not to tire ourselves.

Next was the man made forest. It was along a public highway so you just have to look out for cars passing by before taking pictures. =))

Hanging Bridge. We bought our keychain souvenirs here, this was where they were cheapest.

Then it was time for the Loboc River Cruise. We had our buffet lunch here. Then I tried doing the tinikling again! =))

We visited Prony the Python even though my friend Casey had a huge fear of snakes. Prony was the biggest snake I've ever seen up close...and touched. There was also a wild cat at the place where Prony was. I did enter Prony's cage, I just chose not to post it here. =))

Next stops were Baclayon Church, and the Blood Compact site. The image at the side of the Church was pretty interesting. While our guide-driver pointed to us the supposedly real blood compact site. The one where the statue is, is not the actual site; that's what they say.

Our last stops were the Hinagdanan Cave and Bohol Bee Farm. The Hinagdanan cave was pretty interesting, and the tour guides there were so good with handling cameras, haha! The water was really cold too. We also bought shirts here, since they were the cheapest here. =D We weren't able to do much at the bee farm since the tour was already over when we arrived there, so we just took a little stroll around the place, tried the different kinds of honey, and tried the malunggay ice cream as well.

Both Casey and I were so exhausted at the end of the tour. Our guide-driver brought us to an affordable place where we could buy our dinner already. It's called Chicken Ati-atihan, and their chicken is good! We also ordered some cheese sticks.

We didn't even have energy to go swimming anymore, and I decided I wanted to sleep early since we were to wake up very early the next morning. It was tiring but super fun. =D
