It was a day of upsets in the UAAP yesterday. UE defeated Lasalle while the Bulldogs surprised the Soaring Falcons, showing no signs of giving up. Even though both UE and NU are already out of the final four race, both teams wanted to end their seasons on a winning note, and they did just that. While Lasalle and Adamson, in the 4th and 3rd place respectively, have just booted themselves out of the contest for that twice to beat advantage coming into the final four battle. They are going to face each other next, a game where it will be determined who’s going to be in 3rd and 4th place, and battle either Ateneo or FEU for that finals slot.

Today, UP faces the FEU Tamaraws at 2pm, and will try their luck on clinching their first win. UST on the other hand will have their hands full with the Blue Eagles in the 4pm match, and will try to end their season 73 campaign strong. Both UP and UST are also out of their final four chases, but they’re not out yet of their strong determination to win their games. Ateneo will be eyeing for that twice to beat advantage that they can claim if they win against UST today. FEU meanwhile have already gained a twice to beat advantage, but will also want to keep their momentum going with a win against UP, which could help them come the time for the final four. We should expect to see an exciting game between these teams today, nothing is easier for anyone right now. Good luck!

    Go Tigers! :)

As the end of the eliminations in the Men’s basketball draws nearer, everyone’s hyped up about the 2010 UAAP Cheerdance Competition which will be held on September 12, 2010 at the Araneta Coliseum. The FEU pep squad will be defending their title this year, while the UP pep squad and the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe try and reach those two top spots once again. Let’s also not forget last year’s runners-up, the Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion which surprised everyone with their runner-up win last year. For sure, these four teams are up against fierce competitors in the DLSU animo squad, the NU pep squad, the AdU pep squad, and the UE pep squad. Every year these pep squads have brought something new to the cheerdance floor, and have threatened the highly favored squads. With improved themes, dance routines, new lifts, pyramids, tosses and techniques, expect these pep squads to give out all their best and try and beat their foes. We are up for an exciting cheerdance competition once again come Sunday. Best of luck to all teams!

    Go USTe! :)
