I've always followed the UAAP ever since I was in high school. And yes, I won't deny the fact that I've had a number of crushes over the past years that I've been hooked to this league. I was always used to the fact that these players are older than me. But things have changed, and I almost always forget that I am now older than some, or probably most of these players as the seasons pass. I find some of them very admirable, not just based on their looks but also because of their basketball skills. =)) So, allow me to share with you my own version of the Top 10 UAAP crushes/cuties of Season 74.


10. Mike Silungan


He's named after Michael Jordan as far as I know, but I didn't see the connection until their first few games this season. I didn't really hear much of him last season game-wise, except that they say he is good, but I didn't see it. But now I do, and boy is he good when he's on fire! Plus have you seen him smile?! Swoon.

6. Jeric Fortuna


Jeric Fortuna has stepped up so much compared to how he was last year! I guess he's living up to being the captain of the team, and leading the Tigers to every win. He's doing a great job I must say and he fits in the role. I believe point guards are better captains, since they're like the directors or coaches inside the court. Aside from his superb basketball skills, he is really cute. You know his height and my height is just right. =))  And I like how calm he is inside the court. Now I'm thinking if he deserves the 6th spot, or should I rank him higher? =))

5. Chris Camus


This guy is one of a kind. He shoots, he dribbles, he rebounds, he assists, he fastbreaks, he dunks. What else? Hahaha! He's super all around, and he's got pretty good skills. When he feels it, he's a monster on court. And he doesn't give up. Super athletic and super hyper. He kind of looks like Jay-R too, right? =P I think he's super nice too, and he's cute, and macho. =P

4. Alex Nuyles


I didn't even like him that much until their PCCL game against Ateneo last year. Alex Nuyles is a very good basketball player. Besides, he doesn't look that bad either, and I'm all for chinito guys too. I kind of like that mysterious/serious aura some guys have too, and Alex is one of them. It makes them more interesting and you feel like you want to know more about them, or know some other side of them. Yes, Nuyles is definitely in the top 5.

3. JR Cawaling


He's one of the basketball players that I've liked ever since his second or third year of playing for the FEU Tamaraws. He's not that super cute but he's very appealing. And just like the rest of them here, he's got really good basketball skills as well. Silent type too, and looks very humble. I just don't like his inconsistency at times. But he's still JR Cawaling. I still like him. =P

2. Kirk Long


Ah yes, Kirk Long. The more you hate, the more you love! That's kind of the story I have with this guy right here. I hated him so much during Season 70 or 71 of the UAAP, I think he was a rookie or a sophomore then. He hit that huge basket that cost UST the game. I hated him so much after that. But come the next seasons, I started to like him. He is soooooo good. I mean, if he's the kind of player that would beat my team, I wouldn't complain that much. He's also the only blue eagle right now that I like, haha! (Okay, gwapo si Nico Salva, he is good, but I don't feel him. At hindi ko type si Kiefer, although yes he is a great basketball player no doubt.) He's also very silent inside the court, doesn't complain much, (I like 'em that way.) humble, and I just really like him. =))

1. Jeric Teng


I don't even know where to start. =)) I only super liked Jeric Teng during last season, but I already know even before then that he's good since he was rookie of the year. I got to watch more live games, I got to see them more, and eventually I got to watch him more. And as the games went on, oh my goodness, he was just The Tiger for me. =)) I love his game, he is super good. I love his chinito looks, and I know marami akong kaagaw. =)) (Though he kind of looks weird at times, pero I don't care, haha!) If only he was my age or a bit older than me, but age doesn't really matter naman e, 'di ba? =)) Definitely my top 1. ♥

There you have it. You may agree, or disagree, or have other entries, this list is based only on my opinion anyway. They're all tall and athletic, macho, some are mysterious, serious, some have really cute smiles, chinito, some look really nice, and yes, I admire basketball players. =)) Aside from that, the dedication they have to the sport is very commendable. No surprise if we see these players in the PBA soon.

If he was playing for the Tigers right now, Clark Bautista would've been here as well. Sayang talaga 'yun.
